Hi,

I use WP 4.6.1, Woocommerce 2.6.4., WP Retina 2x
Yesterday I launched an Optimize All on 1000 images and went to bed. Back this morning, it was still "running", So I've stopped it. 50 images had been compressed! :(

So I have 3 questions :

- Am I supposed to leave WP open for it to run? / How is "Optimize all" supposed to be used?

- Where does compressing occur (my site, cloud?)

- Does Image recycle recompresse already compressed images (on desktop or by other plugins)?

PS : is this plugin maintained for WP? because it hasn't been updated for more than half a year.

Cheers,

J.

Hi,

You can leave your website, the optimization should run in background.
But sometimes, there is some server restrictions/limitations. Please create a support ticket so we can check it.

Your images are sent to our server, optimized, then sent back to your website.

This plugin is maintained, we had no need to make an update during the last 6 months.
But we are currently working on an improved version, which should be released in some weeks.

Best regards

Hi Damien,

Thanks for this swift answer! If you have a link to any technical intel about server restrictions and imagerecycle requirements (memory size, etc) feel free to give it to me. Maybe I can first try to sort this out by myself. ;)
For now I will do manual compression and will open a support ticket later if needed.

Regards

Some providers block requests when it's over a certain amount of datas to prevent malicious usage of your server or to resources on shared hosting.
This is the case for exemple for WPEngine.

The other thing would be that you're not allowed to run a long script even if we call all functions to make this possible in our script.

Best regards.
