Hi,
I've just bought the "ImageRecycle image compression" 1Gb pack, via my Shopify site at http://www.lotsogifts.com

The script is currently running through my site lotsogifts.myshopify.com / http://www.lotsogifts.com optimising the images.

Couple of quick questions:
1)
Does the ImageRecycle script OVERWRITE the current image URL with the optimised version, or does it create a NEW (ImageRecycle optimised) image url for each?

2)
When I look at a product that ImageRecycle Shopify app says it's optimised, it would appear that there's no improvement in the image optimisation & file size, so for example "All Things Pink Personalised A3 Calendar" at http://www.lotsogifts.com/products/all-things-pink-personalised-a3-calendar when you run it through Google's Page Speed Test (see
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lotsogifts.com%2Fproducts%2Fall-things-pink-personalised-a3-calendar)? Unless I'm missing / misunderstanding something?

Hi,

ImageRecycle only changes the image, it doesn't change any url. You keep the same url for the new optimized image.

The explanation about the google page speed results follow.

ImageRecycle optimizes the images of the products. Then Shopify creates 12 differents sizes of this images.
We do not have access to this images, only the main image. This 12 generated images by Shopify could be optimized even more if we had an access to this images.
But they are always more optimized than without imageRecycle.

For the moment ImageRecycle only optimizes the products images but the next version will also optimize the assets.

Best regards.
