Exclude directories and still optimise images in the /images directory

If you exclude a subfolder, e.g. images/layout, it will no longer optimise new files under /images.

If you exclude a subfolder, it should still optimise files in the root folder! (Custom Fields loads files into the root directory /images/ by default).


Example:

File: test.jpg Directory /images/test.jpg

Will only be optimised if the whole /images folder is activated.
If you exclude /images/layout, it does not optimise the image /images/test.jpg!

Is there a solution to this?
